Earlier this week I was reading a New York Times article detailing the growth of Argentine investment in South Florida real estate. In the last few months they have surpassed Brazilian investors as they face 25% inflation and weakening currency. Many are buying properties sight unseen. According to the article, The Opera building on Brickell is a favorite, just minutes from Coconut Grove, Miami Beach and the airport.
As I read the article, I reflected on my recent international buyers and noted none had been from Argentina. But not a few hours later, I received a call from a Realtor expressing interest in my newly reduced Coral Gables home, 5910 Maggiore Street for Argentine clients who were interested in buying it – sight unseen – for investment. Then, literally a few hours later, another colleague called and ask that I prepare investment worthy property recommendations for him to take to multiple clients in Argentina next week.
Maybe I put it out to the universe…or maybe everyone’s reading the same article.
