How many mango pictures and recipes have you seen on Facebook from your South Florida friends in the last few weeks? I’ve seen recipes for mango crisps, smoothies, cocktails, ceviche – you name it, I’ve seen it! Mangos are a staple in South Florida and a delicacy. So much so that Coral Gables’ Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden has planned an entire weekend festival dedicated to this luscious fruit.

This year’s festival held on July 14-15 will be the 20th anniversary of the Mango Festival. There we be lectures on how to cook with mangos, how to care for mango trees and much more.
