Exhausted, but happy, Queen Bea has moved into The Palace.
I cannot begin to express the kindness that the staff at the Palace extended to us to make the move as seamless as possible. My Mother’s apartment was waiting for her, immaculate and gleaming. There was bottled water chilling in the refrigerator and a basket of goodies with a Palace robe, slippers and bottle of wine on the counter.
Everywhere she went, my Mother was welcomed enthusiastically by the current residents and is looking forward to making new friends. The food was absolutely delicious (and plentiful). Live Classical piano wafted through the lobby during happy hour. And although she did not have a chance to enjoy some of the wonderful entertainment as of yet, we heard from other residents about how pleased they were.
The only glitch over the weekend was that Comcast could not get her phone working but she has her cell phone as a standby until this issue can be resolved.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Palace has set the Gold standard for what an Independent Living Facility should be.
If anyone has any questions or would like to discuss our experience at the Palace in Coral Gables, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Additionally, if your aging relative is in need of selling their home, I’m definitely up to the challenge!
