Can You Rent A Beach in Coral Gables?

Source: Trulia.com

Apparently Miami Heat’s Ray Allen can for a mere $50,000 a month! Huffington Post is reporting that Ray Allen has moved into a posh Tahiti Beach estate with over 11533 square feet, nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool, an elevator, Whirlpool spa, maid/inlaw quarters, walk-in closerts, and a four-car garage…and a PRIVATE BEACH. Granted the beach is a “man-made white sand sliver of beach along Biscayne Bay” but I’ll take a sliver any day in this exclusive Coral Gables neighborhood!

Play Ball! Miami Heat & Marlins Players Touring Coral Gables Luxury Estate

In the last 7 days, I’ve shown my regal estate located at 9100 Old Cutler Road in Coral Gables twice to two professional athletes – one plays with the Miami Marlins, the other for the Miami Heat. It’s no surprise these athletes’ families would be interested in this sprawling, 10,000+ sq. ft compound designed by renowned architect, David Johnson, boasting 7 bedrooms and 8 full baths and 2 half baths. This newly built residence is located on famed Old Cutler Road, adding much prestige to this address.

If either moves in, it would be a slam dunk…or, um… a homerun!

LeBron James: Crowned King (and My Grove Neighbor)

Source: Miami Herald

South Florida is aglow with pride this morning! The Miami Heat have been crowned NBA Champions!

And no one deserves to wear the crown more than MVP LeBron James…my Grove neighbor! (Not next door, sugar-sharing neighbor but neighbor nonetheless.)

After this outrageous albeit grueling season, I wonder if LeBron is going to opt to party or relax in his Coconut Grove, waterfront home? Both, I suspect, given that the contemporary residence’s luxurious offerings suit either state of mind.

I do hope he’s sitting on his balcony this morning thinking about how he’s going to do it again next year!

I also earnestly hope that he is truly enjoying his Coconut Grove home and making last memories here in his adopted hometown.

Favorite Spaces Series: Family Rooms

I love writing my favorite spaces series and, of course, family rooms are worthy of special attention as they have become the heart of the home, perfect for watching “The Voice” or the latest movie, for playing Scrabble or Pictionary, reading a book or doing homework.  The five I have selected are all very different but all are fun in their own unique way.

Coral Gables Golf View

Whether watching the Masters on TV or watching someone swing their golf club outside the picture window, this family room overlooking a golf course in Coral Gables had a HUGE wow factor.   The built-in cabinetry was stunning and the large screen TV and surround sound were just the icing on the cake…or the hole in one, as golfers might prefer to say.

Expansive Family Room

Blissful luxury exists in this Coral Gables estate home.  Soft comfy couches, large coffee table for snacks and drinks, coffered ceilings, graceful arches, and surround sound…what a way to spend an evening!

Tree House Family Room in Coconut Grove

Imagine sitting in a tree house with 360 degree wrap around balconies and watching “Survivor” or “Castaway.”  It is the unexpected that makes Coconut Grove so special.  This family room was delightfully original.

Largest TV I've Ever Seen!

The ultimate Man Cave.  It had possibly the largest TV screen I have ever personally seen in a home with a unique projection system and, of course, surround sound that could blow the roof off the house.  The owner and his friends spent countless hours there rooting for the home teams: the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Heat, the Miami Marlins, University of Miami… ANYTHING Miami.  Let there be no doubt, this is a sporty family room in a sporty city.

Snapper Creek Lakes Family Room

This family room in Snapper Creek Lakes estate felt like an upscale cabin in New England.  The warm wood floors, the interesting beamed ceiling, and the built-in bookshelves cocooned and cosseted. The home has a state-of-the-art-electronics system so the music emanating from the sound system could be controlled throughout the property.
